5 Stars from Euro NCAP to New Ford Kuga!

Yeni Ford Kuga

Leaving all competitors behind in the “Driving Assistance Systems” test; the new Ford Kuga was awarded by independent automobile safety and performance evaluation program Euro NCAP with 5 stars; thanks to its Ford Co-Pilot 360˚ technologies, including the Adaptive Speed Control and Lane Alignment Assist with Stop and Go and Traffic Sign Recognition System.

After two weeks of testing, New Ford Kuga also scored twice as much as Tesla Model 3 in the "driver engagement" category, outpacing both; Volvo V60 and Volkswagen Passat. Richard Schram, Euro NCAP Technical Director praised Ford Kuga, awarded with five stars, as below: “New Ford Kuga showed how successful results and a good rating a high-volume family SUV can achieve. Kuga proved the offer of high performance and solid safety in all categories in our First Driving Assistance Systems Test. It also demonstrated how crucial balance is provided by vehicle technologies in terms of driver interactions.”

Advanced technologies taking safety to the highest level

New Ford Kuga; using a radar and camera combination to monitor the road and traffic with advanced technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Alignment Assistant with Stop and Go and Traffic Sign Recognition System; can automatically adapt to traffic and road flow as well as speed restrictions. The eight-speed automatic gearbox with Stop and Go System and the Adaptive Cruise Control System enables us to stop the vehicle completely in heavy traffic by using 50 percent of the total brake force. If the standby period is less than 3 seconds, it automatically allows continuing driving when the time is up. In addition, during standbys for more than 3 seconds, the driver can stop the system and continue on by pressing a button on the steering wheel or gently touching the accelerator pedal.

While Kuga's Lane Alignment Assistant follows road signs in course of driving; it also applies small amounts of torque to the steering system to help the vehicle stay in lane each time Adaptive Speed Control System is activated. This technology, which supports drivers at speeds up to 200 km, gives visual and audible warnings when it detects the driver is not touching the steering wheel. In addition to all these features, the new Ford Kuga offers a maximum level of safety with advanced applications such as; the Blind Spot Information System, which reduces and prevents the effects of a collision in the event of a possible accident, and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection.
